At TOTAL TOOTH TREATMENT AKASAKA, we specialize in gum grafting and bone regeneration.
Are you experiencing issues like receding gums or feeling that your gums look longer than before?
Various factors can lead to a loss of gum volume, making your teeth appear longer.
Exposed tooth roots can cause sensitivity when eating or drinking. Especially when the gums covering the front teeth recede, the front teeth look longer and a noticeable aesthetic concern arises.
Our doctors have received specialized training and extensive experience in gum grafting and regeneration treatments. Here are some of the treatments we offer.

Gum Grafting and Regeneration (Root Coverage)

Free Gingival Graft

遊離歯肉移植術

Also known as root coverage, this procedure involves using gum tissue from the roof of your mouth to restore volume and height to the gums. This treatment is suitable for individuals experiencing:

  • Gum recession affecting only a single tooth
  • Exposed tooth roots causing sensitivity
  • Aesthetic concerns due to the appearance of longer teeth
  • Lengthening of front teeth from orthodontic treatment

CTG/FGG technique of free gingival graft is specialized, and not all dentists are trained to perform it. While it may not be suitable for overall gum recession or extensive root exposure, it can be effective for localized issues.
After a thorough examination, we will determine if this treatment is suitable for your case. Please feel free to consult us for more details.

Bone Regeneration and Grafting

When a tooth is affected by cavities, it can typically be restored with a plastic filling. However, when periodontal disease leads to significant gum and jaw bone loss, simple fillings cannot restore the lost gum and bone. In such cases, regenerative therapies and gum grafting are used.
Our dentists have specialized training and extensive experience in gum and bone regeneration treatments.

Emdogain: Rebuilding Periodontal Tissues

エムドゲイン

Developed by the Swiss company Straumann, Emdogain® gel is used to regenerate bone and gum tissue lost due to periodontal disease. The gel is applied to the affected area and sutured in place.
The regenerative components in Emdogain® stimulate the regeneration of bone and gum tissue. Although success rates can vary depending on the case, our clinic has achieved high success rates.
Emdogain® has been approved by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare since 1998 and is a safe material used in over 44 countries worldwide.

GBR: Restoring Bone

GBR法

This is a technique used when the jaw bone (alveolar bone) that supports the teeth has deteriorated significantly due to periodontal disease. Bone graft material is placed in the affected area and sutured in place to encourage bone regeneration over several months. GBR is a bone regenerative technique often used in conjunction with implant treatments.
