Tartar Removal (Scaling)

スケーリング

Our dental hygienists carefully remove stubborn tartar that has built up on the surface of the teeth, including the tartar hidden below the gum line, sometimes using magnifying glasses.
We aim to perform the scaling procedure efficiently in one treatment to minimize the pain. We strive to make the tartar removal and cleaning process both comfortable and convenient, accommodating our patients’ busy schedules.

PMTC (Tooth Surface・Interproximal Areas Cleaning)

PMTC

Experienced and well-trained dental hygienists perform PMTC. Using specialized tools such as rubber cups, tips, and polishing brushes attached to a device, they gently and thoroughly clean the surfaces of your teeth.
For those with noticeable stains on their teeth, PMTC can remove surface stains, often making your teeth appear one shade brighter and whiter.
This not only helps prevent cavities and periodontal disease but also improves the appearance of your teeth, leaving your teeth feeling smooth and clean.

Airflow (Jet Powder Stain Removal)

エアフロー

For stubborn stains and discoloration that PMTC cannot remove, Airflow efficiently removes them in a short time. Using a jet of water and fine powder, Airflow cleans stains from the crevices of your teeth.
It is an effective and gentle method for removing stains caused by everyday items like tea, coffee, wine, and tobacco. If you are concerned about discoloration from these items, please feel free to contact us.

Periodontal Disease Prevention

To prevent periodontal disease, preventive measures are essential. We offer specialized periodontal disease prevention services at our clinic.

Scaling and Root Planing (SRP)

保険クリーニング

Bacteria that cause periodontal disease thrive in the “periodontal pockets” located between the teeth and gums. These pockets harbor bacteria that cannot be fully removed by regular brushing, so a thorough cleaning of the periodontal pockets is necessary.
When treating periodontal disease, the same meticulous cleaning of the periodontal pockets is performed as in preventive care. Rather than aiming for a complete cure, the focus is on stopping and preventing the further progression of symptoms.
To stop the progression of symptoms, it is necessary to keep the periodontal pockets clean and reduce the total bacterial count.
If the disease has advanced, we prioritize symptomatic treatment. For teeth that have become loose, we may adjust your bite to prevent further damage or stabilize the teeth by securing them to neighboring teeth.

Brushing at home cannot reach deep enough into the periodontal pockets to fully clean them.
Therefore, professional cleaning of these pockets by a dentist or dental hygienist is vital.
Our experienced, well-trained dental hygienists provide thorough periodontal treatment to help improve your periodontal disease. Typically, even in a healthy state, periodontal pockets have a gap of about 2 millimeters, and tend to deepen gradually with age. The bristles of a toothbrush can only reach about 1 millimeter into the pocket, so they cannot fully clean it.
At our clinic, we use an ultrasonic scaler, which utilizes ultrasonic vibrations and water flow to remove debris and bacteria from within the periodontal pockets, keeping them clean.

What is Periodontal Disease?

歯周病とは

The cause of periodontal disease is bacteria. These harmful bacteria proliferate within the gum tissue, producing toxins called endotoxins, which dissolve the jawbone and break down the collagen in the gums, causing the disease to progress.
Teeth are supported by the jawbone. When the bone is dissolved by bacteria, the support for the teeth weakens, causing them to become loose. Additionally, the toxins produced by bacteria can lead to foul-smelling breath, a common characteristic of periodontal disease.

The Relationship Between Periodontal Disease and Systemic Illnesses

歯周病と全身疾患

Periodontal disease, which leads to tooth mobility and eventually tooth loss, also has negative effects on overall health. Individuals with diabetes may find it harder to control their condition if they also suffer from periodontal disease, and conversely, diabetes can increase the risk of developing periodontal disease.
Furthermore, aspiration of saliva containing periodontal disease bacteria can result in aspiration pneumonia. Pneumonia is the third leading cause of death in Japan.
For pregnant women, periodontal disease has been linked to premature birth and low birth weight. Early prevention and treatment of periodontal disease are crucial.

Placenta Injection for Periodontal Disease Treatment

アンプル

At our clinic, we offer placenta injections to prevent periodontal disease. Although placenta injections are generally used for skin care, hydration, and anti-aging purposes, they are also effective in preventing periodontal disease in dental care.

Expected Benefits of Placenta in Dentistry

笑顔の口元

Placenta contains numerous components that activate cells and boost the immune system, leading to the following benefits.

  • Prevention of periodontal disease recurrence
  • Enhanced gum appearance
  • Treatment of taste disorders
  • Recovery from oral ulcers

* Placenta treatment will be administered based on a dentist’s diagnosis. If you are interested in placenta injections, please feel free to contact us.

Hyaluronic Acid

We offer hyaluronic acid injection treatments at our clinic, primarily used to improve black triangles.

Improving Black Triangles Between the Front Teeth

We use hyaluronic acid to treat black triangles, which are gaps that appear at the base between teeth, creating a triangular space.

What are Black Triangles?

ブラックトライアングル

Black triangles refer to aesthetic issue where the gum tissue (interdental papilla) between teeth recedes, leaving visible black triangular gaps. The term “black triangle” comes from the color and shape of these gaps. Besides cosmetic concerns, black triangles can cause functional problems, such as air escaping during speech or food particles getting stuck.

Restoring Gum Volume with Hyaluronic Acid

ヒアルロン酸

Hyaluronic acid injections can restore volume of the gum tissue, helping to fill in the black triangle gaps. By plumping up the gums, we can improve these black triangle gaps.

Do You Experience the Followings?

ヒアルロン酸
  • You have been told by another clinic that treatment for small black triangles is difficult.
  • You are concerned about black triangles due to gum recession as you age.
  • After orthodontic treatment, your teeth are well-aligned, but black triangles have formed.

Duration of Effects and Considerations

At our clinic, we have confirmed that the effects of hyaluronic acid injections can maintain gum volume for several years.
If black triangles do not improve with hyaluronic acid treatment, other treatments such as gum grafting, laminate veneers, or direct bonding may be considered.
